The breast augmentation procedure

This procedure increases the size of your breasts. During the procedure, implants are inserted into your breasts to enhance their appearance. It can also reconstruct the breasts of cancer patients who had them removed via surgery. The size and type of breast implants will depend on your desired results and body anatomy.

A fat transfer breast augmentation can also enhance the appearance of your breasts. This makes use of body fat from other parts of your body. The fat will be processed in the laboratory and will be then injected into your breasts. Unlike breast implants, this technique has a lower risk of complications. This is a great option for patients who desire a smaller increase in their breast size.

Benefits of breast augmentation

This surgery can help you achieve the following:

  • Improved quality of life
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Well-defined breasts that are in proportion with your body

Ideal candidates

We recommend this breast surgery if you have:

  • Breasts that have lost shape and volume due to pregnancy or weight changes
  • Fully developed breasts
  • Low self-esteem due to your breast size
  • Realistic expectations
  • Uneven breast size or shape

What to expect after the surgery

After your surgery, your incisions will have dressings or bandages applied over them. This will help protect your surgical wounds from infection or injury. You will also need to wear compression garments to reduce the swelling of your breasts. Depending on the extent of your surgery and your desired results, you may need to take leave from work. As you recover at home, you will need to avoid heavy lifting and other forms of strenuous activities.

Contraindications

We do not recommend this surgery for patients with:

  • Active breast infection
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Breast cancer
  • Inadequate amounts of breast tissue
  • Silicone allergy
